Example

The following code fragment loads "books.xml" into xmlDoc and inserts a string to the text node of the first <title> element:

var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
       myFunction(this);
   }
};
xhttp.open("GET", "books.xml", true);
xhttp.send();

function myFunction(xml) {

Definition and Usage

The insertData() method inserts data to a text node.

Syntax

insertData(start,string)

Parameter Description
start Required. Specifies where to begin inserting characters. Start value starts at zero
string Required. Specifies the string to insert
