Description

The Math.tanh() method returns the hyperbolic tangent of a number.

Based on hyperbolic sine and cosine:
Math.tanh(x) = Math.sinh(x) / Math.cosh(x).



Syntax

Math.tanh(x)

Parameters

A number.

Return Value

Type Description
NumberThe hyperbolic tangent of the number.



Browser Support

Math. is an ECMAScript6 (ES6) feature.

ES6 (JavaScript 2015) is supported in all modern browsers since June 2017:
